There is always going to be something that will get in the ways of our goals of our dreams. It what we chose to do when that happens that will change our destiny.

Wow, not to shabby and totally how i feel. I’ve been struggling a lot lately, but who doesn’t. I don’t share it because i don’t think it matters or at least i don’t think that talking about my problems will help me or anyone reach their goals.

It’s easy to have an excuse when they are just thrown at us, crashed into us, eating our insides, burning us up, and keeping us from sleeping. But…why not push thru.

Every day…every day is a new day. Forgive, accept, and change.  We don’t even have to wait until the next day. Just start now…”Oh, I just blew it”…doesn’t mean anything, start over. Again, and again, and again. Never give up. Eventually we will only have to start over every holiday =) When life throws us a “tragedy” embrace it as our “destiny” and learn and grow from it, and don’t ever give up.

If for whatever reason we don’t think we’re worth it in the moment, then think of the individuals we can inspire, thru our choices, thru our example just by choosing to live.

    LIVE
I love life. I love choices and freedom. I love working hard just as much as i love to play hard. Surfing, skiing, rock climbing, roller hockey, ice skating, soccer, volleyball, business owner, baseball, basketball, astronomy, live plays, physics, art, playing with my children, the hubby, giving, and yes my new…all time favorite…Surfing.

What are some of the things you love?

Now, how can you make them happen =)

Ready for a good upper body weight workout. I may just have to use my 5,10 lb weights and body weight to get it in this week. No more excuses just make it happen. Pep talking myself. Seriously. If i write out my concerns, questions, excuses, and then read them like a friend is talking, then i can give myself some killer advice. When i follow that advice there is no stopping me. Not that I’ll plow anyone over in my path but that I’ll achieve all that i’ve been working for and then some. Man, believing in myself sure makes the world of difference.

    Happy Halloween Everyone!

Yea! I woke up the morning after my last post feeling great!  I was in the middle of a phone call when it hit. I didn’t even have time to end the call i just yelped and asked if she would hold. I played it off as some sort of kid emergency. I took it pretty easy that day and then ended up on a brat diet. Not so good for fitness goals but then again if it gets me healthy then it’s great.  Leftover night…not such a good choice =)

4 weeks left. Yikes. I really got to put the petal to the metal. To bed i go.  I love a good nights sleep.

I’m in the last 5 weeks already. Yikes, where did those three months go? The hubby and I just started to really drill down for the prize and suddenly I’m seeing results. Who-Da-Thunk. 10 lbs on the scale and i almost fit back into my skinny jeans (a real size 8 ) i won last year which is always better then the size 16 i was wearing in spring of 08. My habits are really becoming habits and my old habits are being replaced with new healthy ones.

I had a killer lower body workout at the gym. I’ve been fighting something off. Migraines from the crash, fever every night. I just needed to get some weight training in, the intensity relives so much stress. I’m hooked. I just finished a simple cardio on the bike and will be hitting the gym again tomorrow for upper body =)

We took our home off the market, and are just going to continue to rock our business while living here. Very grateful, and very blessed, now i just need to calm my stress. Wow it’s always late when I start sounding like Dr. Seuss. I’ll be posting weekly at least =) I’ll be catching up on all of you soon. Thanks for the great support it’s made the world of difference.

    Why not cheer myself on….

Tonight i wanted to pig out. I was stressed, emotional, tired, and frustrated. I however don’t have any unhealthy food on hand, not even the ingredients to make something unhealthy. I thought i might do some peanut butter…then i figured this is a choice, this is where i can gain a lb of lose one this is a habit i can chose to change. I made up a double protein shake instead. Honestly very proud of myself and just need to keep making little decisions like that every day.

Selling the house is getting easier in some ways and harder in others. I’m finally done with all of the touch ups and found a good system (empty drawers) to getting the house spotless with 1 hour notice.

Yes, I’m writing while riding =)

Life hit or should i say i hit life and it’s all about getting back up and getting back on track. I was all dressed and ready to ride the bike and watch my favorite show when the power went out. Pitch black. Just after i reported the outage and started to reach for the candles the dishwasher came back on and nearly scared me to death.

So tonight I’m grateful for electricity, heat, the internet, a stationary bike, and will power. Have a good night everyone.

Snack: Mini ice cream cones for the whole family the kids were a little shook up… literally, and so was i.  It was a nice little snack while i was on the phone with insurance =)

Crazy day.  I’m staying on track even with the onslaught of crazy madness.   It’s good, it’s important, a priority, and something i’ve taken to light heartedly for too long. I’ll catch up with you all more tomorrow.

Welp…today was good. I took a day off from the family drama and simply didn’t answer the phone or read any emails. It was nice. I ate a healthy breakfast and got a call from the Realtor that some one was coming to do a walk thru on our condo. I cleaned for 2 hours straight and packed the kids in the car and let them nap while i drove around. At 2 was the next time i ate…it happens. I just got right back on track. Later i had a party to go to and got home late. I know with all the positive stress and family drama that i needed to still exercise. It will help end the cycle and push thru to create new habits. So at 11:57pm i jumped on the bike and did 45min cardio. I’m glad i didn’t quit or skip it i needed that. Now off to bed i go. – Fitness Surfer

Ok…so…i…a..had a bit of a typo in my last post and suddenly wish i had a good sugar free banana syrup recipe. I don’t know how to make banana sugar free syrup. Sorry =)

I was referring to Banana’s Foster BFL style.

    bananas fostered
-Saute bananas in a non stick pan and towards the end i add 1 table spoon of sugar free syrup to caramelize it.
-While sauteing up the bananas i pop 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese in the microwave for 20 sec to warm it up.
-Then top it with the caramelized bananas. It’s not my recipe it’s based on an Eating for Life Banana’s Foster. EFL

Takes 5 min to whipped up and is supper low calorie and always hits the spot. Enjoy =)

Weekend Update: I took more like 2 days off but enjoy a lot of yummy things and now it’s back to business.

Today: I got off track but got right back on and kept total calories low.
    Breakfast: eggs, apple
Snack: Protein shake made with milk
Lunch: Turkey sandwich on Home made sourdough bread =)
    Cardio: 50min bike
Snack: here’s where i botched it
The botch: Chocolate frosting and gram crackers (more below…)
The Recovery Dinner: Veggie Fry over Brown Rice with scrambled eggs on the side (cheep protein)
Snack: Sauted Bananas and Sugar Free Syrup, served over warm Cottage Cheese
Gym: Skip. Running low grade fever glad i got 50min in earlier

    Turkey sandwich

The Botch: both kids were crying and looking at me…i was about to crash and just started to laugh. The 3 year old didn’t like that. The 18mo old decided he could stop crying if mom was laughing. I made them both a sweet starchy snack to pick up their serotonin levels. I was also stressing out over finances and sister “blegh” and decided to have a couple myself. In the moment it was to calm my nerves, but in hind sight i realize i gone too long without a snack and that’s why i was stressing and crashing.

The Recovery: This is the part that matters. I really did have quite the rough day, but i re-focused on my goal and made a supper healthy dinner. It was delicious. When i cook (which is not very often), I make it in bulk for leftovers and to save time on lunches or dinners two days down the road.

    Veggies

Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Zucchini, and Yellow Squash. Seasoned with Mrs. Dash Table Blend, Lemon Pepper, Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic, Garlic Salt, Pepper and 1 T of Vinegar (great cooking wine substitute).

    Tuesday:
    Breakfast: 6 Egg Whites, Apple
    Snack: Protein Shake w/ Milk
    Cardio: 50min Bike
    Lunch: Turkey Sandwich
Snack: Protein Shake, Bran Flakes and Milk
    Dinner: Lemon Chicken, Broccoli, Potato
Snack: Bananas Sugar Free Syrup cooked and served over warm Cottage Cheese

    Happy Monday…if that’s appropriate =)

Any recovery stories?  Blunders prevented or botched moments/days that recovered?  Please share.
