I’ll have to wait and see if we won in Feb.  I know the last two weeks i was most consistent.  I know that’s when i really got results and felt very fit.  I can also say that i know i look great tan.  Seriously I know with cancer and vampires pale skin is in but i look great tan.  The hubby is on a bulk up phase until Jan 1st.  Good timing for him.  I’ve got most of the muscle i want.  I know i could use a little more strength in my core.  Either way I’m taking a week off intense exercising.  I guess every 12 weeks (if your exercising consistently) you should take a week off to avoid a plateau.  I’m not going to start eating junk food.  I really haven’t done that consistently in years.  Probably the only thing that keeps me below 180.  I’m also going to jump right back into exercising next Monday.  I love healthy food and the energy i get from it.  I almost always get some sort of blegh any time i have too much sugar or fat.  I didn’t recognize it until i ate clean and healthy for a whole week straight.

Yeah for me, for finishing even when i knew i could have done better.  I think we may have a chance at the 10k in the couples division.  Either way come Jan1st we’re doing another challenge if there is another one to enter.  It nice having the money motivation.  Honestly just seeing some abs and shoulder definition was more then motivation for me.  Yea h for healthy eating, weight training, and slow steady cardio.  And….Yeah! for all of your wonderful support.  I really appreciate it, it really makes a difference.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

So i’ve been learning more and more about nutrition and it seams that GI and GL make the most sense as far as keeping blood sugar in check. Yea it’s great for diabetics but truly great for everyone. By keeping my blood sugar from spiking and also making sure I get enough GL to keep it from dropping to low I can keep my mood and energy levels, metabolism, and more all in check. It’s really quite amazing. The hard part is. Doing that while also getting a good balance of Protein:Carbs:Fat and also keeping it within my daily caloric needs.

I realize i could give all my information to a nutritionist and pay them to figure it all out and set up a meal plan….or i can take the time to learn and figure it all out myself. Being that money is tight i’ll be doing it myself. Once i sit down and figure it all out then i’ll have lots of meal options and have the know how to make good choices when i’m away from home and make adjustments based on daily activity level and if i miss an exercise that day. It’s great.

My hubby is a health nut as well and he found the great article that pretty much sums it all up. Yes it is geared to guys getting more muscle…but the facts are still true just tweak it to your goals and your set. Either way more muscle means faster metabolism and means you muscles just burn more calories just maintaining where there at. Pretty nice. My favorite part of this article if the list of carbohydrate filled foods and there GL’s. Protein, veggies, or foods that don’t have sugars or carbs are not on the list because they don’t effect your Glicemic Level. Either way its a great list of healthy fiber filled carbs.

    Here’s The Article

Here’s to my last week. Yeah for gum and yogurt. I know i’ve slaked off and used being sick as an excuse up to this point. That’s no reason to not give it my all and finish strong…pun intended. Love you guys and all your support!

Warning: This post will not be uplifting motivating or enlightening. It will however be real, truthful, and therapeutic for my sanity.

Why is it that whenever I’m running a fever i rhyme. I never try to. I actually think it’s cheesy but it just comes out that way.

Hubby still out of town and the oldest (3yrs) and i have fevers. Other than pure exhaustion and rhyming there really aren’t any other symptoms.

I’m tired of being sick. I’ve had a low grade fever every night for the past three months. I went into a Dr and had a full blood panel done the last time i was sick 3 weeks ago. I’m scheduled to go back in a week to see if my kidneys are still showing elevated functioning (miss spelled that the first time with no “n” almost left it that way lol). Whatever that means. I asked the nurse when she called what that meant and she had no clue. I’m going to follow thru with this until my symptoms are gone. I may even try to get in with a Dr I’ve heard of who also does preventative care thru nutrition etc…

While i was there i got on some medication to help with what i think is ulcer pain. Seems to be helping. I’ve tried natural ways like aloe juice and cabbage juice and it just got worse. One thing that soothed the pain completely was deglicerize licorice root. I should get some of that on hand again.

I’m not living to my full potential. I know i have talent that i’m not using. Fear i guess. I need to make a bucket list and start checking things off. i also need to embrace the present. There is so much fulfillment in enjoying the now. Living in the moment. There is also energy created in setting goals.

Ok, to hot to think straight. Going to go check temp again.

Tylenol’s not cutting it and Advil/Motrin is off the list. Anyone know of any foods that help lower fevers?

Hubby is out of town this week. In stead of stocking up on goodies i’m stoking up on protein. It always fills me up. To the point where i don’t get enough in my diet.

I have always been dense. Grandparents, Mom, Aunts, and more always tell how when i was a little girl they would pick me up or at least try once they found out how heavy i was. I wasn’t “big boned” or “thick” other than some meaty calves i was very lean. Just made of muscle.

My little guy M (18mo) is the same way. He doesn’t have any chubby rolls but has the abbs and back of a muscle machine. He’s a picky eater but if it’s protein he’ll eat it. Including tuna out of the can. He can’t get enough.

What am i getting at…gosh even i forgot…oh…I’m the same way. I’m healthier and happier when i get a lot of protein in my diet. Be it legumes, milk, eggs, and meat. Yes i am a carnivore. Not a big fan of hamburger
…just not a lot of meat and a whole lot of….

Any, who. Hope you are all doin’ well. I’ve been overwhelmed and decided to do something about it. Simplify, prioritize, organize, stop procrastinating and get things of my ever building to-do list. I got bills up to date today and that was a huge sense of relief. I switched our finance tracking to Quicken online (which is free and now lets you split categories…like groceries, and clothes from Costco). I finally broke down the 12 boxes in my office and thru out all the trash. Now i just need to find all the stuff i stuffed in drawers when we had our home on the market. It will be nice to know where stuff is again =)

Well here’s to getting my priorities straightened out.
