Yesterday I sat down and wrote exactly when I was going to exercise this week on the calendar (making it a priority). Then I sat down and figured out what I was going to eat today.
I’m not in maintenance mode yet and can’t just eyeball everything and hope I have the right ratios. I’m also just not very good at knowing what’s in my food yet. I’m learning, but don’t quite have it down yet. I plugged everything into FitDay and first made sure I was getting the right amount of protein to gain healthy muscle (around 150grams), then made sure I had a 40:30:30 ratio (protein:fat:carbs). Finally I made sure the calories were not to high or low for my fitness goals (1230-1630calories).

I’m taking pictures today of everything that in this meal plan, and will share on Wednesday.
I’ve replaced some of my carbs with carbs from vegetables and fruits. On the days I know I’ll be burning more then 300 calories I’ll need an extra little snack.
Hope you’re all having a nice Monday =)

Thanks for the protein suggestions. What a cool tool! I need to use that so I know I’m getting enough protein!

Erica:
I just use the free version for now, it does enough to give me a basic idea of what I’m eating.
Edamame is one of my favorite and now it comes pre-shelled in the freezer section and one serving has 14g of protein…cheep and healthy =)

Wow, look at all that healthy food! I love FitDay- it helped me tons when I used to keep a food diary and all that. It’s a really great program.

Planning is the key to success – I wholeheartedly agree!
Great menu – reminds me I need to buy more egg whites for my breakfast sammies!
Hope you are having a good day!

I use CalorieKing and it does help me figure out what nutrients I am eating. And good job writing exercise in on your calendar – that is really helpful.

Sagan: I love that it’s free. I’m all about anything that’s free. I’ll pay for a good trainer, but even then i cut a deal for $25 per session.
Biz:I planned today then changed the plan…i need a backup plan for on the go to help me stay on track.
Laura Jane: CalorieKing..I’ll have to add that to my list of resources. I’ve got an at home workout to do tonight, and I’m glad i wrote it down.

Ah ha! I haven’t been here in awhile =) Sorry… I KNOW I read this, but I usually read your posts and process them for awhile before coming back to comment. Must have got lost, lol. Thanks for sharing your meal plan, I love to see what other people are surviving off of! What kind of juice do you use in your smoothies? I use apple but lately it’s been overpowering, but I probably overdo it. Do you make your smoothie in the morning and 1/3 it throughout the day?
