My biggest thing every day, is actually making my self relax. If I’m going to make time to exercise then I need to make time to relax. These muscles need time to heal, and so does my brain.

I made the most delicious oatmeal I have ever tasted, and ate it while taking a nice hot bath with candles lit, and listening to some good Norah Jones.  Now that was relaxing =). Aaaaa…

    Delicious Coconut Oatmeal
    1/3 C quick oats
    2/3 C water (or milk)
    Coconut
    Vanilla
    Brown Sugar
    Cinnamon

Cook and add a spoonful of peanut butter if you like, or some milk to get the desired texture.  It is so good.  It taste like desert to me & i use to hate oatmeal.  (Thank you Kath Eats)

    5ive Daily Fitness Focus Areas

    1. Financial Fitness: Set side or come up with $500 for San Diego done
Ask and ye shall receive.  Wow!  I have been so blessed.  I got a $450 check in the mail from my mortgage company.  I guess they over estimated the escrow.

Now, I just need to be smart about where it goes.  I think we’ll get the basic need (not wants) taken care of…then give some to more to charity (because there are a lot of people out of jobs), and then a little towards the San Diego trip.

    2. Physical Fitness: Exercise 5 days a week
I did a 25min cardio (bike) while kids were napping…Then they woke up…so I cut it short.  I need to either get up early tomorrow as planned or finish the rest of the 60min workout tonight.

    3. Social Fitness: Connect with five people daily…baby steps
I had two friends and their kids come over.  One was from Colombia and has quite the story of how she came to the US.  It was nice to listen and learn more about others experiences.  The kids ran all over the place and got hyper pretty quick.  I think next time I’ll plan on some coloring time for the older kids to keep things from getting too out of control.

    4. Nutritional Fitness: Eat 5 Vegetable or fruits daily
    Apple, banana, cucumber, edamame, and……tomato.

    5. Mental Fitness: Set and complete 5 daily goals every day

    Today
    -sing at Christmas party…yikes
    -practice for Christmas party
    -exercise – chest/triceps/cardio
    -make desert for party
    -go shopping

Monday will be the 4 month mark since i started this blog.  My 3 Month post was pretty exciting.  I’ll be sharing new before and after photos, and new weight and fat%.  I’m excited to see where I’m at.

    HAPPY FRIDAY!

YUM!! It does almost taste like dessert doesn’t it?? Nice addition of the coconut…I want to buy a bag of coconut flakes, but I’m trying to refrain from buying things that will take me a while to finish.

I am terribly, insanely and ridiculously jealous of your breakfast while bathing with Norah and candles. I must recreate this for myself… especially the oatmeal, sounds delicious! I have yet to shop so I haven’t tried any of your recipes but chicken apple salad and this oatmeal are on the list!

That’s a great goal, to relax everyday, I need to make that a daily goal too. I’m excited for your progress pics!!! =)

Have fun with the singing!! Hot bath, oatmeal, and Norah Jones in the background sounds like a great combination.

I know what you mean. I was surprised that I still had coconut that I bought over a year ago.

    Stephenie:
Lol! I didn’t share the part about scrubbing out the tub before the bath if that makes you any les jealous =).

I’m excited for my progress picts as well!!!

    Sagan:
I’m a little nervous but just need to practice. It will be good to get out of my shell & hopefully lighten the holidays for others.

  • Stephenie Says:

lol! that’s good, because I was just thinking how much scrubbing would need to be done for me to take a bath in a tub that two grown men and their dirty feed shower in… yuck!

=) You just reminded me about the conversation your family was having about chicken poop. Except this converstion is actually intresting =).

I used the generic magic erasers and it works wonders. When it’s real bad I use a generic comment/A-jax & a green scrubbing pad. I just have to make sure I rinse it well because the bleach is hard on my skin.

I’ve been talking about it every day and my hubby is dieing to try it. Ok, he’s not…but I know once he tries it he’ll love it.

    Biz:
The peanut butter makes it more creamy too! Kath has some of the most delicious, but healthy ideas.
