Yea!!! I just won a pair of jeans from WorkoutMommy. Thank you so much. I never win stuff. This is so cool.
She had a contest a while back and all I had to do was leave a comment , and share…
“…what your fitness goal is this holiday season and how you are going to make it happen.“
I just realized I never shared this with you guys. I know you all know what my ultimate goal is. However, because of WorkoutMommy I set a “Holiday Goal” just after Thanksgiving to help me stay on track.
Here was my comment….
“I squeezed into my old skinny jeans just before thanksgiving. Now their getting baggy, and I could really use a new skinny pair to squeeze into. My goal it to be at 15% body fat by May 20th which is a big goal considering I was 24% two weeks ago.
My holiday goal is to lose 10 lbs of fat and gain 5 lbs of muscle get to 20% body fat percentage.
To get there I’ll be working out 5+ times a week with cardio every day and 3 days including resistance training. I’ll be eating a 40:30:30 ratio (Protein:Carb:Fat) to make sure my body has the fuel it needs to build muscle. I plan on wearing tighter jeans to parties because I’m less likely to over eat, and I’ll eat a healthy filling meal before I go. If I decide to enjoy some delicious favorites I’ll also plan on enjoying an extra workout on Saturday. I’m already seeing results and I’m very motivated (and sore). It simply feels better when I take care of my body, and it’s always nice to fit into those skinny jeans.”
And…I WON!!! I’m still on track with this goal and i’ll share how close on Monday with my 4 month before and after picts =)
On the way home from the Christmas part tonight, I was showing my hubby how baggy my jeans were getting. This is perfect timing. I’ll be taking pictures and showing off my new skinny jeans when I get them. Similar to my tight is alright picts, but much better.
Thanks Workout Mommy!
Now I’ve got to step away and spend some time with the Hubby =)
Another Happy Friday to Everyone!

Congrats! Being rewarded for your weight loss is a great motivator, isn’t it? I haven’t scored anything (yet) so I just keep buying stuff for myself

Dave:
Long time…no post. I’ve been checking your blog now and then waiting for another good laugh…eat your face off =).
“buying stuff for myself” Can’t blame you. I’m just starting to understand the whole new wardrobe deal, and I’ve only I’ve only lost 40lbs.
Seriously, you’re amazing. I’m doing a post real soon about my favorite bloggers and you’ll be on there. It makes it near imposable to say “i can’t.”

Wow, how exciting. I never win anything either. And the pair of skinny jeans you were wearing just before Thanksgiving are loose! Wow, that’s great – I need to follow your example!

Biz:
Thanks! My Saturday has been great!!!
I got a great workout in this morning at home. Getting to the gym today wasn’t going to happen. With the weights in the sleeping baby’s room i used resistance bands. Surprisingly a very tough work out.
Then relaxed, hydrated, and loaded up on fruits to help get over this cold =)

Great hooking up with you via Twitter. Good luck shaking that cold.

Thanks to the family fitness blog and you going XC skiing I decided to get the kids out and let them play in the snow. Thanks for the great tip.

congratulations! I can’t wait to see the pictures of you and your new jeans. Keep up the hard work!
December 13th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Congrats on the new skinny jeans. Even more congrats on the body you’ve earned to put in them…you’re doing a lot of hard work to get there, and it’s really inspiring to read about and to see the results. But you know what I’m REALLY looking forward to reading about? Your surfing adventure!!!

Workout Mommy: Thanks again! These old skinny jeans are getting baggier every day. Which is dangerous with little ones that pull on them =)
Pubsgal:
Me too. I figure even if finances get crazy…I’ll drive down there sleep in my car and take a lesson. I’m doing it no matter what =). I’ve actually pictured my self doing it….and falling of…getting sore….getting back on…the whole thing. It helps keep me motivated.
It’s snowing now and all I can think of is the beach. Not that the snow isn’t beautiful.
Thanks for all your support!

Yeah, I know posts have been few and far between, but since I’ve reached my goal there isn’t much to talk about in terms of losing weight. It’s all just maintenance at this point!
Oh, I’m just a guy that decided not to be fat anymore. Nothing more; nothing less. But thanks for using my site and story as motivation and I hope it helped and is helping others. I, too, have a post in mind and your blog with be on it as well
My next stops are 100 lbs. lost and then to be at 190 lbs. This will happen after the new year.
Keep at it! It’s been fun watching your progress and it looks like you have plenty of loyal readers, so congrats!

Dave:
Thanks! Your right, it is just a decision. Don’t know how your story could be anything but motivating.
Here‘s, to your goal of 100lbs lost.
MizFit:
LOL! Laughing and smiling ear to ear =). I never thought jeans could be exciting. I don’t think their “skinny jeans” in the style sense, just the “jeans I’m working to fit into” jeans =) I understand the mom jeans. If I had it my way, every day would be gym day and I could just wear sporty stuff every where…except to the “formal” work party….still have to find something for that.
