The day of fun in the sun was put on hold due to the youngest having the stomach flu. However, I did keep the computer off all day and it was great! When the kids were napping I found myself getting board, but I took a nice long shower, and finished up some new curtains for the front room. They look great. There was also a beautiful sunset that me and the 3 year old watched from the balcony.

In the end I’ve decided to have at least one day a week with no computer time. I may even up that to every other day to be more active and get more stuff done. It will help me be more productive on the days I’m on the computer, and more productive and focused on the days I’m not.

I even slowed down long enough to plan out the next 7 days. That will definitely help me stay focused.

    Optimists
Honestly, with the whole family having the stomach flu these past few weeks, it’ been hard. I’m not going to get into those details because it wouldn’t do you or I any good.

I use to think that there were people who could lose weight without ever trying or having any problems. I’m starting to realize that they have the exact same problems, they just don’t focus on the problems, waist time complaining, or use problems as excuses. They chose to get results, see the good, and be grateful. They’re just more optimistic.

A lot of good has come from the past few weeks…
When the family is sick, me and the hubby have to work harder on our communication, and work thru problems. In the end our relationship is better for it. The boys need lots more love and attention, and I love giving it. It’s not every day I can have the 3 year old sit peacefully on my lap while I read and sing to him, or have the 11 month old fall asleep in my arms.

I’ve cut my self some major slack these past few weeks, and paid close attention to what my body needed. I jumped back into exercising to strong and will make sure to slowly increase the intensity this time. I’m back to eating normal, and didn’t realize how much I crave a good salad.

    HAPPY FRIDAY!

I love all of you. Thanks for your amazing support, via comments, and sharing your own journeys. It has been truly inspiring. Thank you!

It sounds like you are doing so well. I think thats great you decided to take one day off from the computer. that would be a huge challenge for me! well if i’m on a trip or something it wouldn’t, but if i’m at home and its right there it would be!!

though there have been challenges it looks like you are being super optimistic and good has been coming from that :D

Cutting back on my computer time is something I’d like to eventually do. You’re right when you say that you’re more productive when you’re away and more focused when you’ve been away.

It was challenging, and for a moment seemed more like a punishment then a break, but at the end of the day it felt good to know i got so many things done, and relaxed.

    Kim:
Try it just for fun one day. I got so many things crossed off my to-do-list. Many other things on my to-do-list have to be done on my computer, but if i focus on one thing at a time i get done much faster.

For awhile I would completely stay off my computer for the weekend because I found that when I worked on stuff 6 days a week I burned out and was less effective. I also find that when I’m more motivated I can do more, but when it starts to become just monotonous I need to cut back and regain my motivation.

I hope you and your boys get feeling better soon!

    So pretty!

    (we love you too)

Such a good attitude- there’s definitely an advantage to staying positive.

I loved it. In fact after replying to these comments and writing a few more comments my self, I’m turning it off for the day =)

I was surprised that the photo turned out so good. Usually it doesn’t relay how amazing it is in real life, but this was pretty close. It looked like the sky was on fire. A little irony in the “silver lining” and the positive attitude.

I definitely need to cut back on the web surfing. I’d like to honestly have a set/scheduled blog time where I post and read them all, then leave it at that. I find myself constantly checking my reader… who know why! I do it with facebook and myspace too… I need to buckle down and work so I’d like to figure out a plan… maybe blog time in the morning so I get my fix out of the way.

That’s a bummer about not getting your play =( Today I finally had some me time. I drove over to the beach and just laid in the sun. It was so good for my soul… not having to talk to anyone and being the in fresh air and sunlight. It’s been rainy lately so it was extra nice. You could try taking a cat nap on the floor beneath a window. If there’s anything I miss about winter it’s naps in the sunshine on the floor (and hot chocolate)!

Hope you have some play time this weekend, thinking of you! xoxo

Hello FS– you make a great point here about taking time away from the PC to engage in other things. I have done that and try to do that more but like you I find I get bored but if I plan in advance I can finish off some projects, take care of ME, READ–one of my goals for this year to read for pleasure. Good job on giving yourself a break and take it easy. Having sick kids is no fun and you can’t afford to get sick either.

Wow, what a great picture! I love sunsets and sunrises. Oh, and trees and blue skies!

    Stephenie:
I actually did that just the other day. Because the suns at more of an angle in the winter it shines right in the window and heats up the house. I just laid there, and I could feel it warm me up even deep in my bones. I love that feeling.

I could have a cup of hot chocolate ever morning. It’s just all the sugar I have to watch out for =), but every now and then is more then alright. I love hazelnut, and mint truffle =)

    SpinDiva:
I have a lot I need to be getting done. All of which have a much higher activity level. Seriously thinking about cutting back to 3X a week. Blogging/Commenting/Researching. It may be necessary for me to reach my goal, and may make my post even better.

    Biz:
Me too. I figure If I can slow down long enough to notice the beautiful things all around me, I may be able to enjoy life a little more =)
