I’m alive and loving it =)

Taking a week of blogging was the best thing I could have done. I love stepping back and looking at things from a distance and re-prioritizing now an then. From this perspective it’s easier to give my self a pep talk, and get-real.

    Lots of great things happening…

    I re-prioritized, simplified, and relaxed.

I enjoyed it so much, and got so much done, I’m going to keep doing it =)

I’m making healthy choices & exercising every day. (Even if it’s only a 5-10 min HITT bike ride and random sit ups.)

I used a free 2 night vacation package and booked 2 nights in Oceanside for May =) If it’s healthy for our finances I’ll, add on a few more nights, and flight. If not we’ll have a good-old road trip, and keep the vacation under $500.

I started doing some stability exercises to help with jumping up on a floating board in water. Still nothing like the real thing but core strengthening will help either way.

I tested out a new program for simplifying finances.

I enjoyed sunshine and fresh air.

I also enjoyed adding cottage cheese to an omelet one morning.

I fixed the high pitch squealing noise in the shower with a plumber for under $75 (that never happens).

I spent more time being active, and present every day & helped my youngest learn how to walk =)

I spent a day at a free dinosaur museum, and a day at my Grandparents.

I spent a day on me and actually saved my legs. I’m sure there are other women out there who struggle with this one when it’s freezing and your wearing jeans/pants 24/7?

I missed reading all of your posts, and either getting incredibly inspired, motivated, or hungry =)

    From here…

Until the trip (May) I need to step up my activity level and blogging 2 hours a day won’t work. I’ll be doing weekly updates, or more when I just can’t wait to share, and doing my best to stay up to date on all of you. You have all supported me this far, and I want to make sure I can be there to support you as well.

I knew I could reach my goal, I just didn’t know how amazing it would be. There is lots more to learn, and I’m not all the way there yet. I‘m not quite sure if there is a “there“. I‘m just enjoying the journey!

Sounds great!! It is always nice to step back and take a break.

And any time away is a get away, even if for a couple days!

I enjoyed your comment on MizFit’s site today. Good choice for backing off on blogging to get in the rest of your life. I made a similar choice recently and am pleased with my max of 3 posts/week on my own blog (um, well . . . except for this last week when I snuck in an extra – but only because I was rolling with a fun idea and went with the creative flow!).

Sounds like a fantastic and productive break!

lol @ the leg shaving point. I’m terrible for that in the winter.. except now at work I wear my workout capris when doing the stairs so I’m kind of forced to shave more regularly. haha!

Hi, just came across your blog and love it. This is a really exciting journey you are on. Here is my favorite quote so far:

“You are stronger than you think. Mentally and physically…”

I guess I like it so much because i know it is true from personal experience.

I’ve been surfing for over ten years now, and I’m also working hard to overcome some fitness problems. 2008 was the most inactive period of my life. I had a couple months where I could only rest on a couch. A lot of my recovery has been, and continues to be, very similar to your experience. It’s great motivation to read your posts. My goal is also to get in shape to surf. I look forward to following along as you reach for your goal.

Erica: Even with the temperatures back to freezing when the sun comes out i make sure to take a break and go enjoy it.

Kim: I pulled out my capris and stated wearing them around the house to motivate me to keep up on my legs. I should get some workout capris. My old ones don’t fit. Good problem to have =)

Julian: Welcome. I’d love to have you. I’ve been there. The first half of last year was my “inactive period”. One thing after another, and then i just made the choice to get moving even with all the medical stuff (tests and surgeries) going on. Sometimes I wonder if it wasn’t for my days stuck on a couch and then not able to lift over 10lbs ect. if i would appreciate everything i do now. I don’t have any regrets, and know I can make the best of it.

I might need some tips on how to get up on a board or at least what i need to strengthen. Good luck. I’d love to cheer you on any way i can.
